"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle."
--Ernest Hemingway |

Let GETTYSBIKE TOURS and RENTALS take you on a cycling journey across the beautiful, historic Gettysburg Battlefield. Team up with a National Park Service Licensed guide and let them lead the way while they share their expert knowledge of the Battle of Gettysburg--you can either use one of our bikes on the tour or bring your own. Or you can simply rent our bikes to explore on your own.
Touring the Battlefield "saddled up" on one of our bikes is truly the best way to experience all of the history and beauty that Gettysburg has to offer. Please check out our Comments page to see what just a few of our satisfied customers have said about us. And please check out our Frequently Asked Questions page for answers to some of the most common queries we get.
Also, we can now also arrange a tour by car, bus or van for your group. The choice is yours! |
We welcome group tours -- corporate groups, school groups, and scout troops are all welcome. We work with you to provide a customized experience that meets your particular needs, and can tailor the challenge of a tour for all levels of bicyclists (and historians).
A tour on one of our bicycles is a fun, educational, and healthy way to experience the most important battle of the Civil War.

July 1, 2 and 3 are the anniversary days
of the battle of Gettysburg. |
Our tour schedules those days are as follows:
July 1
9 A.M. - FIRST DAY'S BATTLEFIELD TOUR: Ride the battlefields west and north of town and learn how the battle started on the morning of July 1, 1863. This tour will cover only the first day's battlefield but will go into greater detail than a standard tour. You will see McPherson's Ridge and the site of Union General John Reynolds' death; the Railroad cut; Iverson's Pits and much more.
-or-
1 P.M.- STANDARD TOUR: We will give our standard, 3-hour tour, which gives a general overview of the battle. You will cover the battlefields of all three days of fighting. You will stop at the Lutheran Seminary, the Peach Orchard, The Wheatfield, The Devil's Den, Little Round Top and the Angle, as well as many stops in between at some of the Gettysburg National Military Park's 1400 monuments.
July 2
1 P.M. - STANDARD TOUR: We will give our standard, 3-hour tour, which gives a general overview of the battle. You will cover the battlefields of all three days of fighting. 5 P.M. - SECOND DAY TOUR: One of the most famous and legendary fights at Gettysburg occurred on Little Round Top, in the late afternoon of July 2, 1863, on the Southern end of the battlefield. It will also include a stop at the Angle where you will learn about the culminating action of the battle, Pickett's Charge, which took place on
July 3, 1863.
July 3
To be determined.
